When our school started in September of 1965, Founder and President Robert McCurry served in the capacity of Principal/Administrator. He served until 1970. Dr. McCurry is a graduate of Beulah Heights Bible College and received his doctorate from Great Plains Bible College. During those initial years from 1965-1970 grades 1 through 7 were added.

When the 8th and 9th grades were added at the beginning of the 1970-71 school year, the school hired their very first principal to relieve Dr. McCurry of those responsibilities. Dr. Grover Langston was chosen to that position. Although Dr. Langston had served as a pastor for more than 30 years, he was also well respected in the field of education. Combined, Dr Langston had more than 45 years experience in ministerial and educational work. His academic work was earned in several colleges including Norman Junior College, Middle Georgia College, Southwestern of Texas, The University of Alabama, and Emory University. Dr Langston received his B.A., M.A., and PhD degrees. He faithfully served us as principal for four years.

Beginning with the 1974-75 school year, the Board of Trustees announced that Mr. Marshall Chambers would serve as the new principal/administrator. Formerly, he had served in the school as a teacher, counselor, and administrative assistant. He was also in the director of the evangelism ministry in the church known as the Go Ye For Christ ministry. In addition to his educational qualities (M.A. Pensacola Christian College), he possessed the fine qualities of leadership, compassion, and dedication, all of which are essential in one who serves as principal of a Christian school. He also was the person responsible for starting our competitive sports program that same year.

Beginning with the 1981-82 school year, Frank Holby, one of ourmiddle school teachers became the school's third principal. Frank had been converted to Christ in 1971 midway through his college career at Auburn University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1974, he served as a public school teacher until moving to the Atlanta area in 1975. During the years, Mr Holby served as a middle school and high school teacher, administrative board member, and as principal until 1988. At that time, he became the Director of Guidance and Curriculum.

After the school relocated to Sharpsburg, Georgia, in the summer of 1988, Ronald McCurry became the school's fourth principal. Mr. McCurry had entered the ministry as a member of the church staff in November of 1974. He attended Antioch Bible College and Seminary and Whitefield Theoloical Seminary and graduated with a B.A. in theology. For 14 years, he served as youth director, associate pastor, co-pastor, high school teacher, high school principal, and varsity basketball coach. Mr McCurry served as principal until 1995. That same year, he became Administrator of Heritage Christian School. Currently, he serves as senior pastor of SouthPointe Church and administrator of HCS.

In January of 1995, Mr Roy Davis became the choice to become the 5th principal of the school. Mr Davis had literally grown up in our church and school. While attending Georgia Tech in 1973, he volunteered to help the school by driving a morning and afternoon bus route. One year later, he began teaching high school math. He remained in that capacity from 1974 until 1995 when he became principal of HCS. Because of his love for teaching math, he continues teaching high school math as well as serving as principal of HCS today.
