Starting The Application Process

The Heritage Christian School application process is a “self managed” process. It is the responsibility of the parent(s) to track the application from beginning to end. Parents should make all appointments, ensure that all information is submitted in a timely manner, and make certain that all supporting documents are submitted for inclusion in the applicant’s file.

To request an information packet, contact the office at 770-252-1234 or 770-252-9298. This packet contains all necessary information for enrollment.

To officially establish your child’s file in the office, you will need to complete all forms in the application packet and return them to the office along with all applicable fees. Applications and all forms must be on file before interviews and testing can be scheduled.

Heritage offers two ways in which application packets can be completed and submitted. (First) – the traditional paper application can be mailed or brought to the office. (Second) – the on-line application links will take you to our secure on-line application which can then be electronically submitted.

Starting The Enrollment Process
  1. Schedule an informational visit (not required).
Call the office and schedule a visit to the campus. An office worker or staff member will be happy to give you a brief guided tour of the facilities and provide you with a packet of basic introductory literature that you may take home and read. If you then feel that Heritage Christian School could be the right partner in the Christian education of your children, then carry on to step two.

  2. Read the Heritage Christian School Guidebook on-line or purchase a paper copy edition.
The Guidebook provides detailed information about the educational ministry including standards, guidelines, and commitment to which families must agree in order to begin and maintain a positive and productive relationship with the Heritage Christian School Ministry.

The enrollment packet includes the following: (1) application (one per child), (2) the family pledge (one per family), (3) a financial partnership agreement (one per family), (4) a student questionnaire (one per student fifth grade and up), (5) a calendar, (6) uniform information, (7) information about extracurricular programs, (8) request forms (concerning birth certificates, immunization records, previous school records, and references), (9) an academic profile, (10) a student honor code.

Expect notification of acceptance or denial within three days of the interview.
Once the interview has been completed (and unless it is immediately clear that Heritage Christian is not for your family), the principal will report the results of his interview with you and the paperwork received from you along with your references to the admissions board.

If perhaps the board members have questions that the principal cannot answer, they will contact you for a follow-up appointment.

Once all of the required documents and paperwork have been received and reviewed by the educational board, a telephone call followed by a letter will be made notifying you of either the educational ministry’s acceptance or denial of your request for enrollment.

Placement of children.
Once your family’s application has been accepted, the pastor of education and the teaching staff confer and make determination and grade placement and class scheduling. Even if achievement test scores are available, it is possible that an informal grade placement test may be administered to determine your child’s level of achievement – particularly in the realms of math, reading skill and comprehension, and writing ability. We will confer with you throughout the testing and placement process.

Secure your children’s place in the educational ministry.
Once these steps have been completed, it will be important to secure their places in the educational ministry. This is done by (1) paying the one-time enrollment fee for each child (this covers the cost of opening each child’s file and permanent record), (2) paying the book fee, and (3) paying the August contribution. All other additional applicable fees (such as, sports team fees and lab fees) can be found on our web site.
