  • Spirit Week
Spirit Week is here! Attached to this week’s bulletin are the dress-up days for next week. The cost to participate is $1.00 for each day. If your class has 100% participation they will have an ice-cream sundae party at lunch! And you’re asking, “What is Spirit Week?” Do you remember the time you worked on a Homecoming float in college or when you had a project to complete with the help of a friend? Well, Spirit Week is similar to these. Our students have to plan and work together for a particular goal. Their goal is a completed wall decoration that supports The Heritage Crusaders and squashes the opposing basketball teams. We need you to come and support your students, and especially teachers, in this challenging but fun endeavor. Talk with your teachers to find out what you can do. Teachers are starting to compile ideas now. We will wrap up Spirit Week with a pep rally on Friday, November 14th at 1:15p.m. We will announce the winners of the wall competition and introduce the members of all the basketball teams and cheerleaders. Hope to see you there!

HCS came in cold, losing 15-25 and 20-25 to be pushed into the loser’s bracket. Heritage Ladies began their upward climb fighting the loser of the 2nd tournament match, East Region team Loganville Christian Academy, in game #3. Amber Ireland and Elissa Waldrop led the fight with their 100% good serving attempts, Miss Ireland sending 3 aces and Miss Waldrop adding 2 aces for her high total of 8 points served including game point on the 2nd set. Miss Ireland also had the highest total perfect passes for the match and the most kills (5) plus a tip for another point to bring the sets’ 2 wins for Heritage at 26-24 and 25-23.
In game #5, Heritage was up against their own region #1 seed and old rival, Ballard Christian School. Miss Ireland again had flawless serving with 11 points scored, 6 of which were aces. Junior Jessie Thomas and Libero Dani Long, contributed 6 point serving and put up 11 great passes to the setter this match. Now the Heritage team has fought well to be back in the winner’s bracket to play the #1 seed of the East again, Alleluia Community School, in game #6. Again Miss Ireland, Miss Thomas, and Miss Sherman have successfully sent all their serves in with Miss Sherman totaling 6 points in the match while suffering with a painful wrist injury.
