SUMMER SCHOOL

Heritage Christian School offers a limited summer school program each summer. Summer school classes are sometimes REQUIRED for students who have struggled in certain areas in the elementary or middle grades. It is also used when a high school student must make up a course that has been failed and they do not have enough credits to proceed to the next grade level.

Summer school may also be used by other students who choose to take additional supplemental courses or to earn additional high school credits towards graduation. All such classes must be approved by the administration before summer school classes begin. All students who are REQUIRED to attend summer school will be contacted by the office during the last month of the school year.

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE GRADES

Grades 1-8

Elementary and middle grade students who have failed one or more subjects or who have struggled in any subject throughout the year, may be required to attend summer school to advance to the next grade level. The school office will contact all families in May of each year to inform you if it is necessary for your child to attend summer school.

HIGH SCHOOL

Grades 9-12

Because high school graduation is based upon the number of credits a students has earned by completing and passing the required core and elective curriculum, HCS may require a student to attend summer school if the student has failed or if they have struggled throughout the school year in any high school subject or elective required for graduation. HCS also offers limited supplemental courses in order for a student to earn additional credits. These supplemental courses must be approved in advance by the administration.
